About Astrokit

Business software, sized for the businesses that actually use it

Astrokit is built by Purple Orbit, a digital agency in Preston. We spent years building and fixing systems for small and mid-sized businesses, and kept running into the same gap. Astrokit is our answer to it.

Why we're building it

The tools were never sized right

Purple Orbit has spent over a decade building websites, integrations and custom software for businesses across the North West and the rest of the UK. Most of that work involved connecting systems that were never designed to talk to each other.

The pattern repeated: a company of fifteen people running an enterprise CRM they used four fields of, paying per seat for a sales floor they didn’t have. Or a spreadsheet, three inboxes and a shared drive, held together by one person who remembered where everything was.

Neither option was built for them. The enterprise tools were retrofitted down and priced up; the simple tools ran out of road the moment the business grew. We built the missing middle for clients often enough that it made sense to build it properly, once, for everyone.

That’s Astrokit. Where systems align — a CRM, transactional email, SMS, payments and monitoring that share one login and actually know about each other.

How we work

Four things we won't compromise on

1

Price it like we'd want to pay for it

Adding new user shouldn’t be a cost consideration on growing your team. Our per user pricing is fair and affordable and comes with higher usage limits. Add-ons exist for the things that genuinely cost us money to run, and nothing else.

2

No artificial caps

Unlimited contacts, companies and pipelines. Limits should come from what a system can actually handle, not from a pricing page designed to make you upgrade.

3

Your data stays yours

Full export, any time, in a format you can use. UK-hosted/EU-hosted on eco-friendly infrastructure, and we’ll tell you plainly where your data sits and who can reach it.

4

Say exactly what's true

Products in development are labelled as such. Trials are full-access, not stripped demos. If something doesn’t do what you need yet, we’d rather tell you than sell you or you tell us what you need and we’ll look into it.

Where your data lives

UK and EU, on purpose

Your customer records are the most sensitive thing you’ll put into Astrokit. We keep them under UK and EU law, in UK and EU data centres, and we’re specific about it rather than vague.

Hosted in UK/EU

Customer data is stored and processed in the UK or EU.

UK and EU GDPR by default

A Data Processing Agreement is part of the standard terms, not an enterprise upsell. Our sub-processor list is public and we give notice before it changes.

Yours to take back

Full export in a usable format, on any plan, at any time. We don’t sell personal data and we don’t use your records to train anything.

The trade-off
This does make us a little more expensive

UK and EU regions cost more to run than the cheapest available, and holding to them rules out a long list of convenient, cheaper tooling that processes data elsewhere. Same with the hosting choices below. We could shave the bill by spreading workloads to wherever capacity is cheapest that month — plenty of software you use does exactly that.

We’d rather charge a few pounds more and be able to answer “where is my data, precisely?” with a region and a name, not a paragraph of hedging. If that trade isn’t right for your business, we’d genuinely rather you knew now.

Environmental commitments

Software has a footprint. Ours is measured.

Every CRM record, every email sent and every uptime check runs on hardware in a building that draws power. Most software companies never mention it. We host on renewable-powered infrastructure and treat efficiency as an engineering constraint, not a marketing line.

None of this is offset-shaped. We’re not buying credits to cancel out a number we haven’t measured — the commitments on the right are about the energy we actually use.

  • Renewable-powered data centres

Our UK and EU regions run on providers with a matched-renewable commitment for the electricity they consume.

  • Right-sized, not over-provisioned

We scale to demand instead of leaving idle capacity running through the night. This results in less wasted energy.

  • Efficiency treated as a priority

Efficiency treated as a priority. Slow, wasteful code costs energy as well as money. Performance work is part of normal maintenance, not a special project.

  • A light front end

Pages are built to be small and fast. The footprint of software includes every device it loads on, not just the servers.

  • No speculative AI training

We don't use your data for AI traning, AI only touched items you requested.
